The term “Recall” is generally used in relation to the safety of a product. In relation to vehicles, a recall happens when a large quantity of vehicles or parts has been deemed unsafe for use. The manufacturer or the government takes the action to pull these unsafe vehicles out of circulation either by ban on sale or fixing the issue.
According to (NHTSA) recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle, equipment, car seat, or tire creates an unreasonable safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards. Most decisions to conduct a recall and remedy a safety defect are made voluntarily by manufacturers prior to any involvement by NHTSA.
